Climates of Inequality Workshop Application | 7/13 - 7/14 2022 Apply by 6/22/22 | Climates of Inequality Professional Development for 5th-12th Grade Teachers This professional development experience was developed in conjunction with the temporary Climates of Inequality exhibit held at the Arizona Heritage Center at Papago Park. The exhibit explores stories of environmental justice from the perspective of frontline communities. The interactive workshop prepares up to 30 teacher to integrate critical environment and historical concepts related to both changing climate and societal inequalities into their scope and sequence. Participants will work with facilitators to investigate the ways that environment and inequality intersect, designing critical questions that they can use when they and their students make a (funded) post-work field trip to the exhibit and Heritage Center. Teachers will receive a $300 stipend for participating in the workshop. |
